Mzansi, Your Conscious Movement Has Arrived

Conscious Mzansi: A New Way to Wear Your Values  Conscious Mzansi was born from a quiet shift, the kind that starts deep within. We reached a point where we knew we wanted to be more intentional and more mindful of the impact we make. We don’t want to just exist in the world, we want to move through it with purpose.Rooted in the heart of Conscious Lifestyle Collective, Conscious Mzansi became a space for that purpose to grow. It’s for people who care about the planet, about wellness and about community. We now introduce a collection that is an extension of that choice. Every piece was designed with intention, made using recycled and planet conscious materials and eco blended canvas. It’s not just clothing, it’s mindful, it’s purposeful, and made to last.Created to be worn often and to remind us what we stand for because what we wear has the power to spark conversation, to reflect values and to bring people together, this is about carrying our beliefs into everyday life. This is for us.It’s a movement. It’s for everyone. It’s for Mzansi.

I Didn’t Grow Up Plastic Free, I Grew Up Conscious

I didn’t grow up with glass jars, metal straws, or compost bins. I grew up in a township, in a home where we reused everything, not because it was trendy but because we had to. Ice cream tubs stored leftover pap, bread bags were rinsed and hung up like laundry, hand me downs had soul, stitched with stories, passed down with pride. We caught taxis together, shared water, shared books and shared dreams. Back then no one used the words eco-conscious or sustainable living, but looking back I realise that our way of life was exactly that. We were living sustainably long before it had a name. That realisation didn’t hit me all at once, It came as I grew and learned more about the “zero waste” movement. But so often, what I found felt unfamiliar, where were the stories like ours? Where were the versions that honoured our roots? That’s where Conscious Lifestyle Collective was born, from a place of remembering. Remembering the power and purpose we’ve always had. Not to “go green,” but to live meaningfully. Not to follow trends, but to live in ways our grandparents already knew. And that’s what Conscious Mzansi is about , a reminder that our version of conscious living already exists. It’s already in our homes, our habits, our heritage. So this Plastic Free July, I’m not here to tell you what to buy. I’m here to help us unlearn the idea that we’re only now becoming sustainable. We’ve always been conscious. We just didn’t have the words for it. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more of my journey, spotlighting the wisdom that raised me, and inviting you to reconnect with your own. Stay tuned and don’t forget to shop our conscious, plastic free bathroom alternatives while you’re here. Shop now

A Guide to Raw African Oils & Butters For Your Skin

A Guide to Raw African Oils & Butters For Your Skin When it comes to building a body care routine that actually works for your skin, a few core ingredients can go a long way. As winter settles in we're spotlighting three of our favourites: Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, and Jojoba Oil. These staples are gentle, effective and versatile enough to meet your skin’s daily needs. Whether you’re hydrating, calming, or simply sealing in moisture. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is a clear, gel like substance extracted from the inner leaves of the aloe plant. Widely grown in tropical and semi tropical regions, including North and Southern Africa, it has long been valued for its soothing and restorative properties. Aloe Vera is especially effective during dry or irritated skin moments. Its key benefits include hydrating dehydrated skin, soothing sunburn and irritation, and reducing inflammation while promoting overall skin recovery. Use aloe vera gel as a first layer on clean skin, especially after sun exposure, shaving, or when your skin feels reactive. It absorbs quickly and preps the skin perfectly for follow-up moisture like oils or butters. Shea Butter Shea Butter is a rich, creamy fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree which grows in West African countries such as Ghana and Nigeria. Known for its intense moisturising properties, it’s a trusted staple in nourishing and protecting dry or compromised skin. Shea Butter works to deeply hydrate flaky skin, restore the skin’s natural barrier, and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars. Apply as the final step in your body care routine to lock in hydration. You can use it alone or melt it between your palms and layer it over oils for added nourishment. Jojoba Oil Jojoba Oil is a golden, wax like ester sourced from plants grown in arid regions. Unlike traditional oils, its structure closely resembles the natural sebum produced by our skin, making it highly compatible, balancing, and non-comedogenic; meaning it won’t clog pores. This lightweight oil is ideal for regulating oil production while delivering calm, clear hydration. Naturally antibacterial and anti inflammatory, Jojoba Oil is especially well suited for both sensitive and acne prone types. Use a few drops on damp skin after cleansing or aloe application. It works well as a standalone moisturiser or as a lightweight sealant under makeup or SPF. You can also mix it with your shea butter for a personalised blend. As the weather cools down, your skin craves deeper nourishment and these three ingredients deliver exactly that. Enjoy exclusive discounts on our top picks and the full body care collection.
